Delivering an application
Original message :
Hello, To deliver your application, you have to create an environment file referencing your intel_a directories and the intel_a directories of Catia. On Windows, you can look at an example by exploring the Properties/Shorcut of the Catia icon on your desktop : you’ll see that the command looks like c:\programs\ds\b08\intel_a\code\bin\CNEXT.exe -env V5R8_B08 -direnv c:\programs\ds\b08\catenv First parameter (-env) is the name of the environment file. For this example, the file is named V5R8_T08.txt and is located in “c:\programs\ds\b08\catenv”. You can copy this file and customize it adding to each path in it your own path : it should be easy since the structure of your intel_a looks the same that the one of Catia. On Windows, the CAA tool “setcatenv” can create this file for you (for help, try setcatenv -h). If you work on UNIX, the principle is the same. When you have created your file, you can create an icon (setcatenv creates it automatically) on the desktop of your users, by copying the one of Catia and referencing your env file instead of the one of Catia. All the files that you have to deliver to your customers to have your app work are : – the intel_a directory you created – the env file described above – an icon to start Catia easily or the way to create it PS : note that the env customization doesn’t work before SP2 in R8. In R7 it was OK. Hope this helps, Ondine

  1. Hi, this is spyrise. Nice to meet you.
I am a user using CATIA and I try to edit a user form. It can do such a thing:

Once the end user clicks the button on my VB form, he is prompted to pick an element of the type LINE/AXIS/PLANE. And thus a vector array is shown on my VB form.

If he picks a plane, thus the vector uses the normal vector.

I just cannot find any good help material about this, so I turn to you for help.

Sorry to ask such a question. Thank you. I envy you of your good English.

I am from China but I do think your English is perfect. 🙂
